4 Ways To Feel Renewed This Spring

  • Spring is in the air (or at least the weather in the South East of England WAS showing Spring is in the air when I decided to write this post!) so how do we “Spring Clean” our lifestyles? By deciding what it is that you want, assessing where you are, and then cutting your own path to get there!

    1. Decide on what you want to achieve in life, for yourself.

Once you can find some-thing that truly brings you joy then the majority of your actions should be geared towards achieving this end result. It’s then a simple question to ask yourself: Is what I am currently doing serving me in achieving my end?

    2. Decide on what you want to achieve in life, for society as a whole.

Now this is not an uncommon suggestion, “give to receive”, or trying to find a way to contribute to others lives in some way, but I am going to suggest something that is not known by everybody: Only contribute and give once you have given to yourself first! Fill yourself up and THEN give further.

    3. Think constructively about what you currently value in life when it comes to your health.

“Health is the new wealth” as they say, but I would also like to add that once you are healthy you will become vibrant and ready to achieve and attract anything you desire into your life, and enjoy these things too if you are healthy.

To do this above step, think about your health as different categories all causing different effects:

    • What is your nutrition like, and how is it causing adverse reactions to your physical body and your mental clarity? What could you do about it? (This is an important part of change?)
    • Are you hydrated or dehydrated? Are you feeling the effects of being dehydrated, or do you not really know how good it feels to be hydrated and have healthy bowel habits? What could you do about it?
    • Do you move (exercise) on a daily basis? Do you currently exercise and hate it? What could you do about it? Maybe there is another sport, or activity that could keep you fit and supple that you might enjoy!

These three categories are just a starting point. You could use the same process for all others areas of your life that have an effect on your health and wellbeing. This process of determining core values is the first step I take with all of my clients.

    4. Lastly, enjoy the process, and give yourself some memorable steps along the way towards your Ultimate Joy (Steps 1 and 2).

If your Ultimate Joy is to lose 50 lbs, have a £10,000,000 mansion, and create world peace I have no doubt that with all the will in the world you WILL achieve your goal, but realistically this might take a while! Develop some ‘Process Goals’ that can keep you motivated on the journey.

For example, how will you celebrate when you’ve lost 10 lbs? If you’re still living at home with your parents, focus on getting on the property ladder first. And if you’re looking to create world peace… well, I’d certainly love to hear your suggestions on this one :)

So there you have it! Spring Renewal in 4 easy steps. Take some time to sit and think, and I am sure you’ll get some amazing answers.
