  • New At The Blog: Re-Thinking Weight Loss

“How much should I weigh?”

  • “How much should I weigh?”

This is a very common question that I get – typical from women, and usually younger women and girls in their teens.

My answer is always the same:

“Try not to focus on your weight and focus on how you feel and how you look!”

When it comes down to how you feel, you need to ask yourself honestly, “Are you healthy?” For me one of the biggest guidances of how healthy a person is comes down to their digestive health. It’s been said many times before: “Death (Health) starts in the colon!” What this means is that you should be having a bowel movement every day, between 6″ and 12″ long, it should  not be foul smelling, it should be easy to flush, be light brown in colour, and easily passed without straining.

“Do you have lots of energy?” is another good question to ask yourself. Many of my clients find it hard to get going in the morning, and also hard to stay awake in the afternoon. Both of these things can indicate that you don’t feel great, and that your health is not optimal.

“Do you have good clarity of mind?” – Typically seen in the same people that find it difficult to stay awake in the afternoon’s after lunch… brain fog. You know, that sense of talking to someone but not hearing a word of what they have just said!

“How is your emotional balance?” Mood swings, emotional extremes of anger, or depression can be very damaging to your health in themselves, but more than that they can actually be a sign that something is causing an underlying problem to your health and wellbeing.

When it comes to how you look, this is often a very personal question. The questions I ask are: “How is your posture?” – a good indication of your muscle and joint health, and your emotions too. “How is your muscle tone?” – Without good muscle tone you are unlikely to look very healthy and are unlikely to take part in a healthy conditioning programme for your muscles, bones and joints. “What is your skin like?” – Another crucial element in digestive health. Any issue with digestion will show up in the skin as the skin is where we will excrete all of our wastes out of our bodies.

So, now you’ve asked and answered these questions, do you still want to know “How much should I weigh?”

Chances are that if you are obese, overweight, or just carrying a little extra body-weight then you won’t feel too great, or at least you won’t feel as great as you could do. So start there, make the honest distinction between feeling happy with yourself, and feeling motivated to do something about it.

From there, once the motivation has kicked in, we all know what to do: Eat right, move, balance your stress levels, and improve your digestion!

I have been surfing online more than three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. Its pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all webmasters and bloggers made good content as you did, the internet will be much more useful than ever before.
